Liyno
Privacy notice
Last updated 13 September 2026
This explains what we collect when you pre-order a candle, why we need it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to be read, not to be skipped. If anything here is unclear, ask us — the details are at the bottom.
Who we are
Liyno is run by onemanstack, based in Pretoria, South Africa. Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) we are the responsible party for the information described here, which means the obligations below are ours.
What we collect, and why
- Your name
- So we know whose order it is and how to address you.
- Your email address
- To send your order confirmation, to tell you when your candle ships, and to reach you if something about your order changes.
- Your mobile number
- For delivery. Couriers phone before they arrive, and we use it if there is a problem we cannot resolve by email.
- Your delivery address
- To send you the thing you bought. It is shared with the courier.
- Your order details
- Which candle, how many, what you paid and what is still owed. We keep this as our record of the sale.
We collect this because we cannot fulfil your order without it — POPIA calls that processing necessary to perform a contract. We do not ask for anything we do not use.
What we do not collect
We never see your card details. Payments are handled entirely by Yoco on their own pages. Your card number does not pass through this site and is not stored by us in any form. We only learn that a payment of a certain amount succeeded.
This site runs no advertising trackers, no analytics profiling and no third-party social pixels. The fonts are served from our own domain rather than from Google, so visiting the page does not hand your IP address to anyone else.
The launch list
The "email me when the collection launches" box at checkout is separate, unticked by default, and entirely optional — your order goes through exactly the same whether you tick it or not. If you do tick it, we will email you about Liyno and nothing else, and every message will have a way to stop. You can also just tell us to take you off it.
Who else sees it
- Yoco — our payment provider, for processing the payment itself.
- Supabase — where the order record is stored, on servers in Europe.
- Cloudflare — who serve this website and pass your details to us.
- The courier — your name, address and phone number, to deliver.
That is the complete list. We do not sell your information, rent it, trade it, or hand it to anyone for their own marketing. If that ever changes we will ask you first, not tell you afterwards.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for five years, because tax law requires us to keep records of sales. If you start a checkout but never pay, we delete what you entered within 30 days. Launch-list subscriptions are kept until you ask to come off.
Keeping it safe
The order database is locked down so that only our server can read it — there is no public access to it at all, and the key that can read it is held in encrypted storage and never sent to a browser. The site is served over HTTPS. We will not pretend this makes anything impossible, but it means an order list is not one mistake away from being public.
What you can ask for
POPIA gives you these rights, and we will honour them:
- To be told what we hold about you, and to get a copy.
- To have anything wrong corrected.
- To have your details deleted, once we no longer need them for an order or for tax records.
- To come off the launch list at any time.
- To object to how we are using your information.
Email us and we will act within 30 days. If you think we have handled your information badly and we have not put it right, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforeg@justice.gov.za.
